Our Beliefs

Kindness and Caring: 

We know that the best physical care is empty without kindness.  Clinical excellence is a minimum standard, but kindness is what gives us the ability to achieve our Purpose of helping those we touch achieve their goals and dreams. 

Clinical Excellence:

Clinical Excellence is our foundation.  Since care is our most basic service, clinical excellence must be of utmost importance to us.  We will strive to achieve clinical excellence by not only seeking out and embracing best practices, but by encouraging innovation.

Innovation:

Being the best requires Innovation.  In striving to be the best, we will guard against making mistakes with current systems and practices, while seeking to do even better by developing new and innovative systems and practices. 

Financial Stability:

As a for profit company, it is our responsibility to create a stable financial environment that enables us to continue doing what we do.  We believe that the path to financial success in our profession lies not in the ability to provide a service at the lowest cost, but in responsibly investing in our customers, staff, and community, while being good stewards of company resources.  By helping to enrich the lives of others, our business will earn the reputation and loyal customers we need to succeed. 

Growth: 

We believe that slow, controlled growth is a sign of a successful, stable company.  Growth allows for more resources that can contribute to operational excellence.  It provides financial stability, and it enables us to impact more people for good.  We never want to lose our family culture we have by becoming too big, thinly spread, or too removed, but we never want to let the family culture become a hindrance to clinical excellence, systems, or innovation. 

Being a Resource:

In order to help both our customers and employees achieve their full potential, we must be a resource for them – by giving them the information and support they need to succeed, and organized in a way that is helpful.  This requires Education, Data, and Technology:

• Education: We will strive to make Kennon S. Shea employees the best equipped of any of our competitors, with the specific tools they need to help our residents achieve their goals and dreams.
• Data: Kennon S. Shea & Associates will strive to obtain the data it needs to make data-driven decisions whenever possible, whether through outside education, or through our own internal process of gathering data, which will be supported by technology.
• Technology:  Getting the data we need will often require technology.  We believe that technology, when properly used, can have a tremendous impact on our ability to provide the best care possible.  Rather than using technology as a way to take the human interaction out of the care process, we want to use it to increase interaction by freeing up our staff to spend as much of their time with the customer as possible, and allow them to accomplish our Purpose of helping those we touch achieve their goals and dreams.
